Hey One question Is $300 a great price for a 317. It's at swap meet it's didn't sell the first time it's going to be there the again. It's run and drives with deck not in bad shape.

I think it's a good price, do you know which engine it has in it. KT 17 Series 1 or 2? Or maybe a repower Onan?

the price is good, when the technic components of the tractor are in order.

Lots of expensive bits to check if you don't have spares. Drive shaft, motor mounts, steering components - spindles wear at the axle. Series 1 engines can still work well if never used on side hills but all the engines can be ripe on these. Rear wheel bearings -lift the rear end and check the wheels for end play. If you find any, chances are the bearings are on their way out. Very hard to find bearings except at JD for like 100$ ea. You can get axles with bearings from used parts suppliers.

300 is a good price but be wary of the expense of fixing one of these up if it's worn out!

I think that is a good price. There was one listed here for 250 with bad engine.

Did you get this??

If the deck is solid with good spindles it alone is worth $300!!
