I am trying to find some manuals for Wheel horse 1638 hxl or xl. Especially the tranny manual as I have a free spinning tranny problem coming in tomorow and I need to be able to figure it out.

A snapring fell off the diveshaft on the tranny and was replaced but since then the tranny stops working after a 10 minute drive. After letting it sit a few minutes the tranny works again but starts to free spin after a few minutes operation. Ive heard of similar problem being caused by a air bubble but Im not sure How this would be.

Any tips or help finding the manuals or the problem would be more than welcome.

Most of the manuals are available online at Toro's parts site. You'll need the actual model number off of the tag to locate the correct one though.

Do you know who made the transmission? If so, you may find the info on their site.

That is what I was hoping to find. I have no idea what trans goes in there. My guess is sunstrand or peerless.
