I guess I am a member of the Allis Chalmers/Simplicity club now.  I just got home from picking up this little B10.  It's all original with the obvious exception of the deck.  Takes a little to get it started but once it does, it runs beautifully with no smoke.  The owner said it doesn't even use any oil!  This lady had it since it was new.  I have to learn about these tractors so let the research begin.  I don't really know what this one is set up to run (tiller, blower, etc) but I think the back end tells me I am fairly open on attachments.  The seat needs attention, the deck is a bit loud and the front grill needs replaced.  That's about all I can tell is wrong with it.  Let the clutch out and raise the front wheels in about any gear.  This thing is tight!  She wanted $50 for it but this lady is almost 89 and she goes to my church.  I couldn't do that to her.  I gave her $100 and told her it was worth even more.  She's happy, I'm happy, it's all good.

By the way, the serial number is 027112.  Anyone know what year it is?  Does the Simple Tractor site have the serial number lookup?  Thanks.

Nice snag Sir. I don't know the serial number break down, but I'd be willing to guess that it is a 1967 model year. A shame for the grille, but can be easily made. Real nice original tractor, and looks like it would shine with a little polishing. Congrats!

Wow Jeff, that's a really nice Allis.
The tiller is a great unit on these, you would enjoy owning one of those.
I can't tell you how hard I am on mine and it keeps coming back for more... You might be shy a couple pullies to put one on tho.

The starter belt is an annoyance. You have to pull the drive shaft off the flywheel to change it or get one of those "link" belts.

Mine was a bear to start also until I got the timing correct and cleaned up where the regulator mounted (wasn't keeping the batt charged, SO the turn over was slow, SO the mag didnt want to do what it should, SO I would get pi**ed off and yell at it...)
Also, I noticed a RPM increase after changing the belt. The new one was higher in the pullies.

That's a nice looking tractor.  I don't know if I could do THAT to her.  LOL :rolling:   I may have told her $125 might be fair.

Good move all round. It's a shame more folks aren't like you in your dealings with the previous owner---- well done.
