Today, I finally got around to installing the Jaeger version of the Deluxe

muffler that was available for the MF10/12. Member Caseguy(Steve) makes these

from scratch, and he does a great job.

It fit perfectly, and installation was a breeze.

Unfortunately

I wasn't able to hear it running, because the 2 boxes of muffler

clamps that the Mrs. picked up at Canadian Tire the other day

where both missing the clamp part. :wallbanging:  It'll only take a minute or

2, to put one on when I get it.

I didn't want to run it without the inlet being secured properly.

It sure does look great. I can't wait to hear it.

Thanks Steve for the craftsmanship.

Looks good Will

Couldn't you use duct tape to try it till you get the proper clamp?

There ya go, using your noodle again...
If he put a strip over the hood, across the decal, down under the footrest, it should hold until it caught fire...

Sharp machine!  If I ever get my hands on a good Massey candidate for a muffler, someone will be getting a message from me!

He will build for anything, his speciality is Wheel Horse mufflers, but I love the MF ones he's done.

Very nice Will. Is that a compressor connected to the PTO! I've never seen that done before. Does this mean that that 10 is earning it's keep as a portable air compressor?

He has a build thread on that too.

Beautiful tractor !!!!! I bet it was a challenge finding the air compresser attachment for it.

I found the clamp I was missing, so I was able to finish the

installation.

P7020095.JPG

That clamp holds the muffler inlet on to the pipe nipple, that

you would normally have there, to screw one of those

pepper shaker mufflers on to.

The other 2 mounting points, are slots in a flat bar, and that flat bar

is secured to the engine block, into the existing 3/8" -16 tapped holes.

The flat bar is the black vertical part in this pic.

P7020096.JPG

Once I got that clamp on, I fired it up. Man it sounds good.

Sorry, no video of that. The battery in the camera died.

It's much quieter, and has a nice tone to it.

For anyone wanting to upgrade the exhaust on their MF10/12, I highly

recommend this.

One thing I'm going to have to do, is make up a belt guide finger, to keep

the top of the compressor belt from touching the hot muffler.

Steve, I'm wondering if the engineering department, at Jaeger Custom, didn't

get the memo from the engineering department at IamSherwood Custom, saying

that a none original compressor would be in the way. :smilewink:  :smilewink:

:bigrofl:
I'm pretty sure he didnt... :D

As a side note:
I bet Wendy would say that is possibly the first time in the last decade that Will has had a problem with his belt being loose...
