The mileage is great , the draw back is the three speed on the tree, which would make me think it has a six cylinder in it, I'd scoop it for 8 g's if it had a 4 speed and a V 8....

My first truck was a 1970 GMC with the same colors , blue & white . Though mine wasn't too bad it was a little rusty  , then that was 30 years ago ,,pretty sure it wouldn't have made it to 2013 ,  lol

Of course the older ('58) dual headlight model was nice too:

Yeah, they're another great design.  Even the earlier 55's and 56's were distinctive.  Nowadays it seems like all the styling is the same... even more so with cares.

I'm gonna fire up my rant again for just a second

VENT WINDOWS!!!

New vehicles don't have vent windows!!!   Today I got to drive a brand new Freightliner and it has the small windows but they don't open.   I'm a windows open kind of guy but I don't want the wind to beat me to death - and I like my left ear to work after a 500 mile run.  :mad2:

I'll shut up now.

My mom's cousin had one of those when I was just  a boy-- 5 YO or so... it was even the same color. I always thought it was a factory option for 4wd, because a lot of 50's vintage trucks here in Utah had 4WD--before it got to be a thing tied in to a man's testosterone level, the ranchers and farmers out here needed them for the miles of gravel road, or just to negotiate through the range.

We have a level of soil here that is like concrete when dry, and the stickiest grease you can imagine when wet.  We always called it "hard pan" but I suspect it's the same thing as caliche.
