I know I'm a little late to this party, but thought I would put my 2 cents in.  I use 2 family size tea bags in a medium sauce pot full of water.  Bring to a rolling boil and turn off heat.  I leave mine sitting on the hot burner for about 10 minutes.  I then measure a heaping cup (this is my mamaws measure) of sugar into a gallon pitcher.  Then pour hot tea over sugar and mix well.  Top off pitcher with water and put in fridge.  It gets sweeter as it cools.
