Want to swap out a rectifier/regulator from my twin cylinder K engines. You can see them in top of shroud.  Wondering if the screws come out and have no nuts, or am I going to have to remove some tin (a pia for sure) to access some nuts underneath??  I have a KT17 I want to change it on, and also a Magnum 18 that might be donor. Think they should be about same.

I have a KT 17 apart right now and the regulator is held on with bolts that thread into inserts on the engine tin. Same for the K321 that is on the 314. So at least for those 2 Kohlers you can replace the regulator without removing the covers.
