Thought I'd share these pictures of a just completed project, I know it's not a garden tractor so don't skin me alive but I think any Massey buff would like this MF 1155 with that V8 Perkins! It's kinda my baby! Lol! Sorry if this offends anybody posting in wrong place, just thought it might get more attention in a Massey forum! Luke

She's a real beaut! Hope she enjoys her retirement.
When she was a daily worker, what were her duties?

Great looking 1155 and a very nice restore you did there.

Where did it come from, what part of the country? It's unusual to see one without a cab up in your neck of the woods. One of the farmers down the road from where I grew up in IN. bought an 1155 new in 76-78 somewhere in those years. I ran it a few times fall plowing and it was a real horse, you didn't even know when you dropped that 6-18" plow in the ground. :worshippy1:

That's a very nice tractor.  Massey ag tractors are one of the upper quality brands, in my opinion.

This brings back some memories. I helped a farmer part time years back and he had one of these and a 1105 and 1150. The 1155 is quite a horse as built but throw an M & W turbocharger kit on and it changes things. He found a kit from a guy who wanted to get rid of it and we installed it one saturday. The instructions said to put it on the dyno and turn the pump down to 190 horse which never happened. Just put it to work and let it bark. These Perkins v8 had a tendency to break an injector line periodicly. Fuel spraying all over then. Well enjoy your iron. Thanks for the memories.

Thank you guys! I agree, Massey has always built a great product, be it a tractor or combine. We have had a Massey product on our farm since back in the 40's and at one time had nothing but Massey equipment in the 70's!
I bought this particular tractor about 10 years ago down in southern Indiana and used mainly as a auger running tractor and used it on a 15 foot batwing mower. Always wanted an 1155 w/o a cab....kinda rare. This tractor has the eight speed tranny. I found an old original M&W turbo kit and installed it too.....sounds really good! Lol! There were actually alot of these tractors around our area back in the day. Anybody thats run one would agree that you can't pull the engine down.....they just keep clawing away and snorting more black smoke......they are an animal! Lol We have had five MF 1155's on the farm over the years and presently have three. First tractor I rode in with my dad growing up and also first toy tractor model I got when I was born so I'm kinda partial to these tractors! Sorry for long post!

Luke, that's a great looking 1155.  You did a great job restoring it for it's retirement.  Thanks for sharing those great photographs.  I hope it enjoys being taken to lots of shows.

That is a great looking Massey!  Glad to hear the stories behind it, old iron is even better with personal memories behind it.
