A friend is working on a 1937 Farmall F-20. He can't find the head bolt torquing sequence nor required torque. His manual doesn't have it. He was handing out fliers, looking for the info, at the truck show last weekend.

I have not been able to find the info either. Anybody here know where I should look? Thanks, Rick

All references I can find say 85 to 90 foot pounds.  Here is what one guy stated, and it's the way I do heads also.

Go in steps like 20,40,60,80, then 90 and work from the center out and from side to side for each step or the head gasket will be damaged.

Daniel is right, 85-90 is what I do.  As long as your spread out the tightening (like a lug on a tire) then your friend won't have any trouble.

I gave Jon the info. He is still in the vacuum tube era as far as technology so, was surprised at the speed of getting info. He says thanks. I'll let you guys know how it goes when he gets it back together. Good Luck, Rick
