A log splitter was it's third or fourth intended use.

 

The name, Model 6, had to do with the fact it was to have at least six functions!!

Looks like a real nice log splitter.  Or it could be a back breaker?  I like a splitter that allows the mast to be set vertical for those 3 ft Cotton Wood and Maple logs I'm not man enough to lift. I like being able to roll them under the wedge to pare them down to a size I can manage. It is a good design and looks sharp!

If it pivoted, could use to drive short posts/stakes in the ground

Make or buy some dies for it, use as pipe bender.
