That 36' deck would be hard to maneuver wouldn't it! Nice machine. They seem to be rare here. I'm thinking they were mostly marketed and sold to golf courses.

Not quite Brian, but close. At this time Mike Ariens (grandson of the founder) was running the newly acquired Gravely L&G division and they were gearing toward commercial lawn mowing operations, at the time Toro and Jacobson were probably the golf course equipment leaders, but Ariens thought the Gravely line would have more of a market share with landscapers and commercial mowers, they were already beginning to develop thei own ZTR and by the late 80's they had established such a presence in commercial mowing they were rivaling John Deere

Gravely 8122 has 40" or 50" deck not a 36'' deck. The deck in the picture looks like maybe a 40" deck.

Are you commenting on the 36 foot deck?

I don't understand why folks can't tell the difference between feet and inches.

I'm want one of those 40 foot televisions to put in the back yard. ;)
