I just got picked up a 420 last weekend, does any one have a copy of a operator's manual or a service manual? This is my first John Deere, don't know what I was thinking all these years, this machine is alsome! I love the fact that it has a three point hitch and a rear PTO.

You are not going to get a hold of JD manual of any kind unless you put out some money for it. JD doesn't allow there product to go out so easy. The sooner you order one the sooner you can start to work on it, no kidding., sorry that's the way it is.

bburgess:

Congratulation on the 420! Great, especially with the 3-point hitch and rear PTO

I will be sending you a Private Message with info that might help.

Congrats on the new Deere!  I just bought one, too.  It has a few warts, but it is still an awesome tractor.  I'll run it till the Onan breathes it's last, then put a diesel in it... a JD420D!!!!

I bought a JD420 last winter. Put a 54" blade on it to move snow. It workded great. It is needing some TLC but love it so far. I had Wheel Horse's before this....She has about 1500 hrs and smokes, but still has lots of power. Glad I found this site....
