I made him a fair offer on the thing ($450) simply due to its history., and he turned it down saying he paid much more than that. He also has someone coming over tomorrow who he hopes will buy it.

Looks like Mr. Seeman of Peebles, Oh. died in 2010.

The story about the D4-7 was written in 1994

Craps, what a coincidence!  My original manual for my JBI that now has the Wisconsin twin TJD in it..... the manual has hand written, Mr Seeman's name & address inside it!

Brian, I'll try to locate it over the weekend, but I am sure it's the same guy. I bought the JB from a fellow in Ohio, and he bought it in that state as well.  "Mark Seaman" was the name written in my manual,  I'd bet good money on it.

I got this back from him this morning:

I hate to say but I'm  into it for $800.00.. The guy that owned it died and his widow was having an auction
at his airplane hanger.. With it running well and its age I thought it would be worth more.. I lowered my price
on craigs to $950 and have had 2 calls this morning.. I was hoping to find someone like yourself to preserve
and appreciate it..

I just don't think it's worth anything close to that. Sorry Peter, I had hoped to be picking it up for you by now.

I agree, not shutting the door just yet. I'll let you know if anything changes.

Haha, I love this line from the article.

These changes, though minor, will give the antiquers something to talk about. It makes their day.
