Price is too high......but I am thinking it is number 61 in production. Has the cat eye tail lights, no bolt front rims, typical of the early production models  The D 4-7 hood decals seem different than what the usually look like. Never seen a battery box with the cut outs like this one has.....

Scott, Those cutouts are not factory, but for someone who wanted to use a side post battery. He says he bought the blade to use on the back, I'm not sure it's a BH blade? It's not far from me but way way too much $$$. I don't think he will get over $500.00 for it. I can't tell if it had a front PTO or not??

Looks like the front pto is there, I think on this early model there is a handle on the left side of the dash that activates the front pto. I can see the rod in the picture, and I think the outline of the front pto. I am 99.999% sure the plow is not bush hog. I agree, I would be surprised if he gets more than $500... Has no deck, but overall everything is there and does look to be in good shape.

Good condition but not $1500 good. Scott, do you know if the serial numbers started like that? Example 7009 would be the 9th built?

It does look in nice shape, bur it's missing the heat shield and I'm not sure what air breather it had but that one isn't the right one. No emblem on the grill either.

Titus I can not say for sure, but I have not found a d4-7 yet that's serial number was not in the 7000's.
the question to me is 7000 the first or 7001? Hoping if I can get more participation from BH owners we can answer that question.

No, not a Bush Hog blade.  And the grill isn't right...notice it doesn't fill out to the sides.  Agree with Brian about battery cutouts.  The cuts aren't even at all.  NO WAY it'll bring that kind of money!

WoW Titus, good find.  That pretty much tells the whole story right there.  I wonder if that guy in Peebles still has tranny gears?

Looks like Mr. Seeman of Peebles, Oh. died in 2010.

The story about the D4-7 was written in 1994

Nice Titus! Thanks for tying that all together!Pretty sure I had his name and contacted the family back a year ago. My memory is there was no parts etc.
I have made a lot of calls so I may be wrong, but 95% sure I have contacted them.
When I picked up my D4-7 out of Ohio, the rear end was out. In the box of parts was a NOS cluster gear and ring gear, my first thought is that the parts may have come from him.
