Got this GT16 about a month and a half ago, planning on fixing it up (not a full restoration), my "project Holland" (Yellow KGRO) is gone but I will use the 18HP B&S I had rebuild for this project.  Been busy stripping, cleaning, sanding, (spray)painting and assembling.

Looks real good. On the GT18 Steve & I  painted last year, we put a clear coat over it. Calmed the silver down a bunch.

Thanks guys, I don't mind the Silver that much, it's called Aluminum (Rustoleum paint and primer in one).

Woopud, keep up the good work. Your photos are extremely interesting to me! Enjoy seeing how others tackle a project like this! Is that a new frame around the lights...or was it like that when you bought it? Gee, it looks new...

No, that's the original frame, just took it all apart and painted the pieces separately.
