Well the good news is I got a raise.     The bad news is I don't have a job anymore.    :ah_shoot:   But on a happier note am am gonna take the whole summer off and just do what ever I want.   Yeah they called me to the corner office last wedsday and told me my job was elimated.  But I did get a raise on my last paycheck.   What kind of a deal is that?   Anyway I am ok with it.  I am gonna have a nice summer vacation.     :bounce:

That sucks...I guess.  I say I guess because you seem pumped at having the summer off.  Just hope when you're ready to return to work that a job comes open somewhere for you.  Maybe I can get a good deal on your Bush Hog GT near the end of summer?? :smilewink:

I agree what kind of a deal is that?  But I have seen it before, you get a raise and think everything is hunky dory then wam! You're out the door!  Looks like you are excited about enjoying your summer, like Daniel said I hope there is a job available when you decide to return to work.  Good Luck!

I've seen corporate use that before. By giving the guy a raise they intend to let go, they can show that much more $ saved for the company. Usually either a brown noser or a guy who is under the gun himself.

I hope the summer is all you hope and employment is quick when you're ready.

Some people just don't have an ethical backbone.

Jack, sorry to hear about your job, but I hope you enjoy the summer.  Time to knock a few projects down!

Well thanks guys.   I will turn 60 this year and I am a auto mechanic by trade but frankly I have pretty much had my fill of it.  I got a little severance pkg, then my unemployment.  I really don't care I was sick of the place anyway.  I'll knock down a little side money when I can.  And sell a lot on Ebay and I hit the local auctions etc.  My son has a computer store and will pay me a couple hundred bucks a week  just to help him out so I will be fine. I am really looking forward to the free time.  Playing with my tractors etc.  Now if I just don't get sick or hurt.  :smilewink:   I don't think its ever felt this good to be unemployed before.   :bounce:
