I put in my last full day of work - retired for working for the Iowa DOT

36 years and 4 months

15+ years designing the highways in the state of Iowa

and the rest of them working on computers as a tech

helped a lot to understand computers and I hope I made them better users

they asked me what I am going to do

I told them bug the wife

they asked if I was going to work on computers and I said if it is Windows my rate is $500 per hour and 4 hour minimum.  windows is a money pit.  I said if it is Unix/Linux $10 per hours and I might do it for free.

I will be working on my JDs and will buy and fix them up and must likely sell them  - only the 100 and 200 series

Congrats Lyall. When you get tired of bugging your wife you can always hang out here and give us the scoop on your JD projects. I'm near to retiring as well after 30 years at the same job.

Great to hear your retiring !  Most retired  people that have a lot of hobbies tell me that they are so busy now  they don't know how they got anything done while working, lol  , hope that's true with you , Al
