WOW !  More replies than i expected.  Much appreciated. When I finally got to see her yesterday she was in much better spirits, and said to say thank you to everyone.  ( like I needed to be told, lol ! )

Sears Yellow, thanks for explaining the picc line.  Not knowing how to spell some words, or acronyms, bugs the crap outa me, lol.  Also, thanks for the info on the vacuum.  Dag nabbed modern whatchamacallits bobble this ol' coots mind. :D

NJKen, good to hear from you, been awhile .

It was so nice to see my wife smile. She perked up so much because she was able to get back to that particular rehab center.

Any way, thanks again evreyone.

modern whatchamacallits??? For you that could be cars that don't have wooden wheels... Or a fridge with out the ice blocks...

Update !

Just wanted to let those that gave  thoughts and prayers that  my wife is doing much better. Went back to the surgeon for bi-weekly check up and he said that everything looks good, and the stress fracture is about 90% healed. He told her she could put weight on that foot now, but only as much as is comfortable. Of course, to her that meant go all the way.  lol   She's walking with the aid of a walker and increasing distance daily.  The therapist said that I'd be able to take her for a ride pretty soon. if she keeps progressing like she is.  That's a very good thing to hear since she's starting to go stir crazy now that she's feeling better :D

We go back to the surgeon a week from this Friday.  Guess this turns into a cash cow for him, lol !   She's still on the IV three times a day, and the wound vacuum is going to be with her for awhile yet.   Good thing that it has a battery ; that faclitates mobiity.

OH, and the best part !.........  She told me that she's not experiencing any pain !   Well, just some soreness from the hip surgery, but nothing like before.  I darn near cried.   First time in over a decade that she's pain free.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone and  fill you in on the good news !     Thanks much  for your thoughts and prayers !

LOL!!  Sorry, I wouldn't count on that!  I've had enough experience with hospitals, the doctors will say one thing, then the admin and insurance will kick you out the door!!

But this is the best of news, thanks for the update, glad to know your wife is feeling so much better.

Ditto to all of that, but please tell her not to rush it, and stay on the meds. till they're gone, whether she feels fine and is sick of taking them or not. I know from experience that it's all too easy to "forget" those last few doses of whatever when you're feeling so much better than you were. Congrats to you both for pulling through this.
