I think the engine is rebuildable. It just started to bog down while mowing, made a small "skreech", small clunk, and the crank slowly spun to a stop.

Heck I've made noises like that.  I'm still going.. :D

Sorry to say, but the little MTD is filling in right now. Don't have a deck for Bertha and no PTO on the FF!
