worth the trouble???

I have listed an Evinrude 7 1/2hp outboard motor for sale. Nice shape, fair price

So far, I have gotten two replys that ask if they can come tomorrow after 6 PM to look at it. I say, "Sure" and give them my ph. #. I never hear from them. Also one reply asking if the price is firm, no response.

And...        two hookers wanting to talk to me, assuring that it's not a scam.

Is there a way that's is more painless???

Posting your phone number with several digits spelled seems to work. Good Luck, Rick

Usually first couple of inquiries are the Spam type ones where he wants to buy and doesn't even say what it is he saw! Wants to send check for too much and etc.  I question any guys that call or email pretty good to make sure they are really interested and will be coming to see it.

I do a lot of work on Craigslist.  It really is a pain sometimes with those wonderful spammers who try to make my life easy by offering nearly double what I want for it since they are a sailor out on the ocean blue and happen to be watched Craigslist for this once in a lifetime buy that you can get everyday.  :mad2:

I try to make life miserable for them by giving their grammar and spelling a quick tuneup and picking a fallacy in their email, as in "why do you want to send me a $50 dollar deposit on an engine shroud I want $20 for?"  They don't respond most of the time.

I still have to use it, though.  It is worth the effort.

I recently started asking prospective buyers to type a specified word in the subject line of their email when they follow back up with a second email. This has worked for me very well.

Since when do hookers sell web sites?  Besides, they're usually in the rental business.

They don't sell it. I do.

Here's one freebee. Open at your own risk!

"You have to read this if you are real and go through my direction. My photos and cell phone # are published on my non-public profile so if you really like what you see then grab my # and text/call me right away. This is the ONLY way to stop pyschos and to double check you're a safe guy specfically since I want to host at my condo. I am not a bot so stop second guessing me. If you think I'm not real then bye. I'm a freaky gal in bedroom so would like to tell you over the phone what I'm on the lookout for in a guy rather than wasting my time and writing here. I just hope youre real too! xoxo

Some things I list will get spam and some won't. I guess some of my listings have a keyword that the spammers pick up on.

It takes very little time to screen for spam so I list up "email me to get my phone number" then I usually still make them respond to one email before I give out a phone number. I've had pretty good luck at buying and selling through CL... all of our vehicles and my GT's came off of CL.

Photographer had a really nice professional grade camera. And the preacher was very nice. She looked like a hippy straight out of the 60s.Bright Flower printed long dress and long pony tails.

They are going to Florida and taking the 2 girls to Disneyland. They left this morning.Brothers "new wife" is 8 months due with they're 3rd little munchkin.

They searched around for a good "friendly" preacher for a couple of months, most of them would not travel to the spot that they picked or insisted on the wedding being more traditional and inside of a church.

Everything turned out very well though.Thank goodness for Rum and Coke I'm not a people person when it comes to people that I don't know.
