I have been after a clean good running 318 for quite some time. I missed out on a couple and passed on a few because they were too beat up. I enjoyed a couple hours of mowing today. First time for power steering, I love it!  I don't want to brag but I see now why these GT are so popular. Nice ride and lots of power. I have the 50 inch deck and the hydro plow. I think this tractor will be great for snow removal.

Glad you like it . In 1986  my neighbor bought one at the local JD dealer and asked if I wanted to try it  , well of course I said " yea!" Drove it around his yard and within a week or so went to the same dealer and bought a  used 1983 they just got in on a trade . Still have it as my mower . It's been a very good machine and hope you have the same with yours .

Steve:

Congratulations on a wise buy. I love my 318 that I bought about 18 months ago. If you need them, I have the OM and tech manual on the 318, and the OM on the 50" deck. Let me know.

Harlan

Your going to like that a lot!! I have had mine for 3 yrs and workd the heck out of it.

That being said last night I would have sold it pretty darn cheap. It would not start and I tried everything.

Finally called my brother who has been running Deere's for over 30 yrs.

He came out and helped me check it out. We decided the electronic ignition module went out.

He had put a Briggs Vanguard in his 420 last summer, and still has the Onan that he took out.

He was going to get the module off it today and we will change it tonight.

Congrats on the new 318. That's a really nice one! A lot of them have been abused and neglected.

It isn't a true deere, it is missing the deere emblem on the front, other than that it is a sharp looking tractor.
