Tube frames are 1:1 for the pto so thets 3600 rpm. My QT is reduced for 2000 rpm on the pto. I think the large frames are reduced also.

Does the Bolens tillers turn the same direction as the driving wheels ? I wish the tiller on my Economy was changeable. It digs in better going backwards then going forwards to make a nice smooth seed bed.

When facing the rear of the tractor the tiller tines are turning towards the tractor. (same direction as when the rear wheels are moving forward)

What's better about reverse rotation is it doesn't try to push the tractor, so more feel of control.

It seems to dig deeper going backwards also going the correct way ,if it doesn't go the full depth it climbs the dirt and lifts the rear wheels and the tractor actually starts moving faster !! I believe that's what happened when my neighbor borrowed it years ago and brought it back with a broken axle and bullgear .

That cant be good :wallbanging:

I sometimes do use the tiller and go in reverse. It does seem to get deeper.
