Not aimed at anyone here.. Just as a reminder.. Lots of folks have issues.. Some its a broken toe (or worse) some its the dang battery in the bike died (mine did, not that i can ride it though(again perspective)). I get a call from a good friends wife. Finally.. I can go see him in the ICU unit. 6 months ago he was working in the basement of a house doing plumbing reno. The gas fitter hit the live nat gas line. House was flattened and Wilf was in it. One other passed away, his other worker is in bad shape. Wilf.. He can't see, lots fingers, had burns to 90 percent of his body and crushed under the collapsed house. I get to see him finally. One other buddy called said be ready for his twisted sense of humor cause he never lost it in all this. Was told Wilf just wants to go home. He will be in the hospital for another year the doc figures.

In reality... There is always worse.

Perspective.

yes if you want to check. Google Edmonton Alberta home explosion, Wilf.. Something should come up..

All too true. Our best wishes to your friend, and to you, who are hurting for him.  Kind of puts all our small problems in perspective.

His problems that lie ahead for him make my health problems feel like a broken toe.  Wilf is a strong man, many would not have made it this long with all he has endured. He is not aware yet of all of what he has to deal with yet.. He will have some lows.. but he has made it this far.. He will pull out and deal with this..

Burning has got to be one of the worst things. I'm sure sorry!

Truly a strong man to make it through that blast and retain a sense of humor. Thanks for the reminder that life is all a matter of perspective .  All the best to Wilf, and his continued strength.

Our prayers and well wishes go out to your friend and his family as well as you. You are correct, we sometimes forget about those who are suffering more, and a little dose of perspective is good for you once in a while. May God Bless him in in this time of recovery and  beyond. Roger.

I will have him in my thoughts today.  I was intrigued to read the speculation of what initially caused such an explosion.

I hope your buddy recovers enough to still enjoy the life he seems to have well earned.

What a amazing day.. If there was ever will and determination in a man.. Wilf is the strongest willed man i have met to this date. The conversation we had was truly uplifting. He talks of going back to work no matter what. Also knows that his vette was sold to help with hospital bills.. He is determined to buy another one.. Goals.. The man has goals.. I managed to get out of his room before the tears flooded my eyes. That tough man taught me something today about perspective. Life is what you make of it. Lets pull up our big boy pants and carry on...
