Glad you got things running !  I wonder if the coil went bad, shorted and took out the points too.

The PO told me that he left the switch on for a week at least. It was a honest mistake and a easy one to fix. 65 dollars later I was up and running again.

These generally use a coil with an internal resister. I had the wrong coil on mine and it would get hot and short out. Lost spark till the coil cooled down again. Replaced the coil with an internal resister type and all was fine.
