My wife and I where at TS today buying dog food , carriage bolts and a gl of mineral spirits .At the cash register the young girl asked me my date of birth . I just gave her my dumb face look and she said it again , then said it was because I was buying mineral spirits . Anyway , what are kids doing with it ?

What's Up With Mineral Spirits ?

dumb kids these days growing up we would steal a smoke or a beer from a friends parents and thought it was cool or get high (pot) then all these chemical drugs came out. meth is some nasty stuff the one class at college was going over what was in it and wow is all i can say why use it the side affects are not worth it

Pretty sad when you need to be age tested to clean your paint brushes.

OK now I get it , guess I was" huffing " as a kid when I used a dust mask instead of the proper respirator when spray painting lol

When an old guy I know needed to show his ID at a paint store to buy oil based primer, the limit has been crossed.
Didn't they do that in Germany, too?

It is inhaled or "huffed", tends to be done by younger kids
can also be used in the mfg of Meth.
I guess I have been under a rock too long....I didn't know it was a "drug"!
We buy the stuff in 55 gallon drums at work....Delivered by Safety Kleen.....Never had to show my ID!

Must be a new policy at TS.. I went to one a couple of weeks ago and was ask my birthday for a can of fly spray.. They still own the fly spray.
I'm fairly sure that it isn't used by kids for drugs but could be considered slightly hazardous. The chemicals on the shelf for general public use isn't very potent compared to items for commercial use.
