Not really my tractor but ill tell anyway. Got up bright amd early today and jumped over the neighbours fence to get his Allis chalmers carb off. I met him at the local hardware store and he told me that he had been using a shovel all winter because his tractor would not run more than 5 minutes before sputtering and dying. I was sorry he hadnt bothered asking me to take a look at it. Especially since he knows I like fixing old engines. So I took the carb off his GT and told him Id give it a lookt over, it was full of a tan colored gel, everything was plugged and clogged. It took 2 hours to get it cleaned to my likings. When I reinstalled it the neighbour was amazed at how shinny it was (I gave it an extra buffing :) ) It took 10 minutes to get it installed and another 10 minutes to have it tuned right. He was very happy and told me He had'nt been able to run the throttle low before because the engine always died. I told him that now I was officially attached to his GT and that I forbade him to run regular gasoline in there from now on or I would personally drain his fuel tank.

Gotta hate that ethanol crap they put in regular gas it kills our old engines, eats at the gas lines and destroys gaskets :(

I got my new (to me) tiller. It is a Kubota FL850. It was a really good price and small PTO tillers are REALLY rare around here so I think I got pretty lucky. One of the stickers actually suggests that is is used with Kubota tractor models B7100, B6100, and B5100. The seller only had half of the shaft but gave me front half of a standard square type PTO shaft... so after a trip to TSC I had her going. I pulled the side cover off and adjusted the chaing a little. Also changed the gear box oil - it was pretty nasty. After shaft parts I'm into this thing for about $450. It will sure churn some dirt!

A few days before plow day, my GT5000 was surging and starting hard. Ryan and I cleaned the electric shutoff out and it started much better.

FFwd to plow day, the longer we went, the worse it got. Missing, loading up... Even flooded out... This time I pulled the whole carb off and did a thorough cleaning. Runs like it used to. Crapola in there somewhere.

Replaced the drive belt on the charger 12. I also changed the plug and fuel filter. I need to change the oil and hydro fluid/filter soon. By the looks of the idler pulley someone has done a little maintainance.

Spent about two hours playing with the sickle. Got it apart and started taking stock on what I will need for the teeth.

This past Sunday I was involved in a little Deere trading so, I loaded up the 140 and had headed out for a rendezvous near half way between the two of us.

I will miss the 140 as it is my favorite style in the GT's but I came home with a larger tractor that I have been wanting for a while.  I don't have any good pictures yet but with this weekends upcoming plow day, I had to get the plow setup started  and then I will do the fine tuning in the field this weekend.

So here are a couple pix of me turning over two short furrows in my back yard  for a test !!

You did very well on that tiller!! Like you I found a small tiller nearly impossible to find in this area.

So I dropped the big bucks and bought a new one.

I will miss the 140...

Don't you have like 20 of them though...

That 430 is a beast. I like the HD air filter you have on it.

Changed the oil in the Simplicity. It was in desperate need of a oil change.  :poke:
