Well I wasn't joking about miserable weather!

Have upwards of 1" of frozen rainy crap...

Busted the seat on the roper today, beating frozen crap off.

More in the "what did I I do with" thread...

I found a replacement idler pulley for the deck on Dusty the Hoveroni. :D

Just until I can get the original cast iron one machined to remove the old bearing and fit a replacement . So it can be kept it original.

I want to be able to use it for now .

You beat me to it. Hahaha!!!

Just finished up the build of a front weight bracket. At the first plow day I took it to, the frontend spent the whole time in the air. That was with a 10" plow and I want to hook the 12 to the 3 point.
This

Plus this

Equals this

I think 2 of these should keep it grounded. Not bad for a deck bracket repurpose.

Now I know what to do with all those old brake rotors sitting around.

Started on repairing the Deere 420 wiring tonight. It decided to short out and meltdown on me. Luckily I hoard, I mean save things. Keeping an old harness gave me the prongs and wire pigtails I needed to make this repair easier. I also did some improvements where I see issues. Heavier wire for the charging system and pto clutch. I might even add a relay in the pto system to ensure it gets good power.

I worked on my combo garbage can lift/wagon tongue hitch. Works better now, for the wagon pulling.

My son and I replaced a front tire on his White 2550GT , to most of you members working with you kid doing mechanical things is pretty common but my son ( 27)  was never interested in things like that until he now needs to do it himself or PAY SOMEONE !!!!!    and he's cheap lol   The old tire came off easy but the new tire that came yesterday had packing tape wrapped around and deformed  it pretty good and the bead wouldn't seat  We tried the normal stuff , removed the valve stem , plenty of soap to try sealing the bead , then rope around it , still no good . Then I took the quick fitting out of the tire chuck , wrapped a ratchet binder twice around the tire and when ready stuck the quick fitting into the hose for an unrestricted air flow ,  that did it , bead seated , stuck my finger on the valve stem until I could put the core back . Kind of glad he learned a little more things

Tahoe it's a four bolt spindle off some sort of implement not real sure. Should work ok I hope. Still haven't finished it been pondering the steering. I want it to steer as sharp as I can. This tractor mainly is used around the yard and for moving dead mowers or what ever the three point will pick up. Does see some dirt work now that I weighted the back. It's about unstoppable with 110lb a side. Cross your fingers I might fiddle with it this weekend.

Bad day mowing!!! After rewiring the 420 and getting it all in tip top shape, this happened. Clearly not my year with this thing. It was starting to put out a smell last year so I guess it was coming. I tried to stay on too of the adjustments. Oh well, it's only money right!!! Plus I need to hunt for another jackshaft pulley. It's showing signs of being loose.

Removed winch mount for mower duty. As I was lubing up the spindles, I found a crack in the deck. Grabbed the flux core welder, hopefully fixed it. Cut the garden area, both goat pens and started on the field, the little MTD would not have touched it.

Nice catch! One day I might get a flux core welder instead of farming out my welding needs.
