I adjusted the valves on my Murray today, 21 hp Briggs V twin, started it for the first time since summer, runs sooooo nice! Quite and smooth, no real use for it though, might sell it. Charged the battery and ran my Wizard front loader for a while, and took my grandson riding on my new Deutz 1920.

New positive battery cable and cleaned out 23 years of gunk behind the instrument panel!

Also attempted to replace the ignition switch (not actually broken) but apparently the replacement part wasn't exactly right. Starting worked perfectly but turning the key to off didn't stop the engine. It kept on a tickin! Anyway, put back the old ignition since it wasn't broken and got my $10 back from the store 😬

When changing light bulbs in the barn, I laid the light bulbs on the hood of Hogzilla.   Does that count?   :smilewink:

Put a set of heavier gauge stainless frame mounts on the 2182 super that I made from scrap pieces. The old set was .136" and the replacements are .210" thick stainless. The 5/8" attaching holes were getting egged out a bit.20141228_150217resize.jpg 20141228_150255resize.jpg

Had to tweak the rear brackets back straight and strengthen them by welding 3/8 square stock to the sides for the cab on the 2182 cub super.20150104_162745resize.jpg 20150104_162905resize.jpg

This Garden tractor is a Rover , it has the rear 3 point linkage points & linkage bits under the front ,no clue to what year it is yet , 1st pic as i got it ,2nd pic is as far as i have got with fixing & making it & the 3rd pic is with a trial made carryall which works good but room for improvements.

list of repairs & maintenance done so far

1,change 3 tyres & 1 chube

2, changed 2 m/gear boxes to find a good 1 , the original was a 3 speed & the replacement is a 5 speed

3,straighten the LH stub axle

4, put temporary exhaust on but engine exhaust thread is nearly done for so used a light flex pipe

5,replaced original pad brake with a ride on mower disc brake rod pull type ( not hydraulic or cable )

6,put stainless steel dummy cover on bonnet (hood) just for a little style change

7,repaired fuel tank mount , cleaned inner tank , new fuel line & serviceable filter ,tank homemade cylinder type been modified to fit in front on engine ( previous owner made it )

8,tightened up front end cradle pivot

9,replaced the steering drag link to adjustable type for toe in

10,have another seat to fit yet

11,removed & greased front axles & bearings for future easy maintenance

12,the lift for the carryall is an electric worm thread  type (was 240 volt motor but refitted with an 12 volt motor) & the switch is out of an old style cordless drill with built in reverse ( Easy to fit & wire in )

I got the fuel pump on the Gravely torn apart and diagnosed as worn out. As the snow was falling, I quick put it together again in hopes that it lasts for one more storm.
