And hooked a trailer to go buy a Pug?

If the wife asks, just say it really fast. She'll think you said pig or pup and give you her blessing.

No, gonna pass on the Pug.  I have the money to buy it right now, but making room in the sheds & paying bills.  Once I get finished, I'll have plenty of room & sweat less every 1st of the month!

Well, after getting back from deployment, I have finally went and looked at my tractor in the garage. Bad news here. It ended up with me pulling the battery, pulling the battery tray, and making a paste of baking soda and water and slathering it everywhere. Yep, that is right, the JD Strongbox battery has been leaking for the last three months. Now, tomorrow, I have to correct the rest of that issue. I am starting to think the tractor wants a full restore. -Mike

Mike, Thank You for your service to our Country. Sorry to hear about the battery acid issue, I hope you got to it before it really did so damage.

Sure looks good Daniel, I always liked the way that Massey looked with that twin under the hood.

Today I sat down and watched the K 321 off the MF14. Must 've spent a good hour just sittin there watching and pondering about this and that. Eventually Idecided that since no-one on the forum had time to answer my question I would go ahead and take a chance to order the new piston. Hopefully it will be the right one. That woke me up and I closed back the engine and put it away to clear some room for more pressing matters.

Today, I replaced the hydro charge pump on my 1978 John Deere 316. It only needed adjusting, but all kinds of stuff went wrong, that finally lead up to the whole pump being replaced.

In anticipation of the upcoming plow day, I greased the steering components on the FF. Made sure the front tires had the correct pressure to ease steering. Added another 4 of the 7 lb. window weights to my front basket (8 total for 56 lbs + basket at 10+/-).

Then got to looking at the headlights. Might need them! Light switch was there but no wires to it nor the headlights. Got out the meter after removing the switch. Had continuity through the switch, so I cleaned the connectors. Referred to the wiring diagram & sure enough, the hour meter had the wire there for the lights. Ran a wire to the switch, scarfed the headlight wire from the GTV/16 parts tractor & VIOLA! I have headlights. Pretty bright, too.

Don't know if this is kosher or not, but I brought the trailer up and put the FF on the back with the plow hanging off. Set the sleeve hitch for a total 6" depth. I can work the rest with the depth control knob. Also adjusted the plow so it sets level at that depth. We'll see how that works til my 3-point plow arrives.

Sounds like it should work quite well  :urock:

Don't you hate it when you get something all painted and pretty then realize you still have to weld the nuts to it. Just finished doing what I hope is the last of the welding. Just removed the deck from my Case 226 and am in the process of mounting the sleeve hitch. Should be the last thing besides filling the tires that I need to do for plowing this fall. Oh and forgot about the wheel weights.

That's no fun at all! Especially if the paint turned out perfect!

Luckily you guys won't see it at Daniel's. Unless of course your under my tractor! I'm coming with an unpainted hitch and weight bracket on one Case. Paint can come later.
