Need some help identifying this one:

 

According to the owner, it has TG56A-603 cast on the block and 'W.F.' on the head.

I've seen some old farm equipment with "Novo" engines on them. Both were small 4 cylinders. It seems to be a rare brand around here. Another small marine engine that was popular before WWII was the Budha. Good Luck, Rick

I think Hercules built some 2 cylinder engines. Better pics of the block would help.

Looks like it would be missing a bell housing and gear drive as a pony motor for a really bigger motor.

There is a big Cat grader for sale that has a pony motor problem ( hole in flywheel ) . In WI .
