Thanks MFDAC.

Now I remember.

I recognize the hydraulic pump/valve set up.

Glad to see it's still doing it's job.

Sorry man i didn't get by the Post Office today I got tied up buying chemicals for the grapes today. It's grape growing season and I have not even sprayed the first time this year.

I figured it was time to get my rear in gear.

I wish that it still had the original engine but that is long gone. That's a 10 HP Tecumseh on it now, after I tired out a B/S 8 horse about 5 years ago. Been using it for dirt and snow work for a couple decades. Never knew anyone liked them 'till mid 2011 when I found this site!

You gotta take care of business first! Whenever you can get to it is ok, the old Murray will get it done till then. It sure looks like exactly what I need! Thanks again!

Here is an update. I got the starter from Sears Yellow today, and his suspicions were right that the starter he had may have been overheated. The outer windings had fried wires and some armature plates had been hit with some debris causing them to spin on the shaft slightly. This gamble was looking like it probably wasn't going to pay off but I decided to put an ohm meter to the armature commutator poles and every pole read zero ohms, even with the obvious damage to it, meaning no wires are broken in it! I went ahead and polished the commutator and installed it in my housing and it works great!

Now I have to figure out why the cutting deck seems to be dragging the engine down bad enough to make it stall. Maybe the engine is too tired and can't pull it anymore so I better start looking at a rebuild too.

Thanks for all the help from everyone especially Steve--SearsYellow!

I'm glad it worked out for you!! Anytime. I should have sent you all the Massey Ferguson parts I had also. I didn't think about it till after I shipped the starter. Basically some tank bands and some pulley guards for the engine.
