Any ideas on the engine? Looks like fun to me! Warning: May be slightly warmer to run than the average mower........

I'm trying to decide if the fight with the wife is worth it.........................

Sure, it's worth it. The mower appears to be an older Yazoo and it had a 2 cyl. Wisconsin on it. I will look around and see if I can find out the make of the engine.

That thing has NO shrouding around the deck!!! I wouldn't get within 30 feet of it, when it's running!

I know! Isn't it COOOOL????????!!!!!!!!!!
Having both eyes at 20/20 is way overrated anyway.....
I wouldn't get within 30 feet of it, when it's running!
A person could make narrow wood vertical strips around the deck and make it look like a hula skirt.

I thought it looked like a YAZOO.
My 1st father-in-law had a self propelled YAZOO.....He was the only person that I ever knew that could distroy one of these YAZOO mowers!

Hopefully the airflow through the rad. is in on the driver side and out over the engine.

No clue on the engine but that is definitely a Yazoo mower.
I have one of the smaller 42" ones with the 16hp Briggs - deck is poor, I bought it mostly for the engine. I was thinking of putting a smaller engine on it plus a hydraulic pump and adapting mast and set of forks to it to make a small rough terrain forklift.
Yazoos use an odd drive system - they are not hydrostatic but instead use a set of cone clutches. You can shift between forward and reverse on the fly, slowing down between shifts of course.

I would think the engine would be worth what he is asking for the whole thing. Interesting piece of machinery.

Oh Cat, you gotta grab that for that price.
It'd be well worth the fight.
Clean it up a bit. It'd be fun.

I sent an email, we'll see what we get back. There is a hoarder in Buffalo (just north of this unit) that will likely snap it up.
Actually, this unit would work like a charm in my yard. My Jacobsen's 72" deck is just a bit big in spots, especially the ditch.

Well, did you get it past the wife?
