Picked up  a old montgomery ward shredder at a garage sale today for $20. Brought it home and got it to run. Carb had some gunk in it that freed up after it ran for a while and the cylinder head needed retorqued. I proceeded to chip all the sticks in my side yard and it did a decent job.

The tag is marked model GIL 21325 A, serial 47X 8620. Any information would be appreciated.

Sounds like a great deal. You usually can't find a shredder, even a cheaply built modern one, for less than several hundred $ around here!

The only information I might be able to give is that it is Gilson made, going by the model number.

Do we get pictures?? :smilewink:

So Montgomery Ward was bought out by Toro? What I do know is this little shredder is a tank, the rotor has a flywheel, and the tines are at least 1/4" steel. I put a 1" stick of ash down it and it destroyed it like a champ. I think it needs a hitch so I can put it behind the tractor.  I'll see if I can take a picture in a bit.

Boy, That's a great looking chipper. I'll look thru my Cats. and see if I can find the year it was offered.
