Qt17 Hydrostat Trans Trouble

this tractor runs really good, just doesnt go very fast in reverse at all, verrrrrry slow. checked the fluid level and its fine, is there sopmething else i need to look at...?

Does it still have good power going forward and reverse?No sluggish or jerking motions?

 

If it still pulls good going forward then it may just need adjusted.Or maybe the linkage is bent or it could possible have a relief valve that's stuck partly open.

 

 

I've never worked on a QT but or any foot controlled hydro GT but I have worked on many GTs with the same Eaton 11 trans.

 

 

If I remember correctly it's pretty simple to adjust the linkage on these.

 

 

 

 

That's a nice looking QT17 you have there.Sorry I can't really help you but I'm sure some one will chime in that's had similar problems.

Like Eric said, if all seems fine forward, then it's almost got to be a linkage control adjustment issue.

I had a Allis do that and when I changed the fluid and filter it was better, not sure why
