It's a 100, 1978, I think, haven't had time to check for sure.  We just got home with it from Des Moines! I'll look it over better tomorrow & post more pics & info!  ~~  Lowell

Being in as good of condition with the correct engine, this one will be restored to as close to original as I can.  ~~   Lowell

That works too. Will be watching your restore thread on this one, those are cute little LT's.

It's been raining too much to get the 100 out for more pics today!   :(

I got this one by doing a little "legwork"  :D   I saw a 100 on DM CL a week ago, but waited to long to decide to pursue it.  When I called, it was already gone.  So I ran a wanted ad on KC & DM CL, got one email from KC area with a 108 & a call from the DM ad with a 100 in pieces, not what I wanted!

Then the call came about this one, the seller sent me some pics & we arranged pick up yesterday.  Runs good, maybe a little slow starting, but not bad.  Tires hold air but are not good, I have a set of new tires on freshly painted rims on a 70 I was going to restore, so I'll switch them.  The deck shields & chute are missing, but the 70 deck has them.

I like the looks of the engine side covers on the 100 to match up to my 314 & 420.  This one will be a "trailer queen" for shows, simply because I wanted one! :D   ~~  Lowell

Took the "tins" off the little 100 today & washed it up:

Got the steering wheel popped loose, it was missing the main clutch return spring, I had one, replaced it.  Tin's & hood are in pretty good  shape, just need sanded down & repainted.  Rear wheels are loose on the axles, I have repainted wheels w/new tires on a 70 out back, the 100 will get them.  I'll just be working on it along this Summer, if it's not finished by Winter, I'll finish it up then!  ~~  Lowell

Since I'm taking the 100 to some shows this Summer, I decided to do some work on it as time allows & show it as a "work in progress".

Took the hood & tins off for paint:

Cleaned the gas tank & painted it, the straps & cover screen also.  ~~  Lowell

Took a couple fresh pics of the 100 today:

The knobs are in the shop with fresh paint.  Hub caps came from ebay, same style as the JD caps, but don't have the "JOHN DEERE" stampings.  Just not ready to pay 40 bucks/ea. for correct 8" caps!  I have a pair of JD 6".  Deck is in the shop waiting for refurbishing.  ~~  Lowell

Finally got back to the 100's deck! It's been a busy summer with taking care of my mom's affairs & tractor shows, plus the normal summer stuff.

Took the deck off early summer to clean & paint, got it dismantled & it's been setting in the shop every since. Got back to it a couple days ago & finished cleaning it yesterday.

HPIM2927 (640x478).jpg

Primed it this morning & hope to paint the underside this afternoon. May not get much more than the deck done until first of the year though. ~~ Lowell

It is always a good feeling when life slows enough to get back to tinkering.
