The carb of the TRA-12D will interchange but the TRA-12D had an electronic ignition module that was different than the system used on the TRA-10D

You are going to have to re-wire the tractor to get that engine to run.....

I re wired my entire Jetta GLI as long as i can find schematics that shouldn't be an issue the current wiring harness is kinda a joke as it is.

As for the carburetor will my throttle rod from the 10D change over? i am just trying to get an idea of that i need

The seller said it smokes a little bit but it ran smooth no knocks he pulled the head to de carbon the motor will carbon make these things smoke? as long as the cylinder wall and the piston look good i will just lap the valves and leave it be i will be rebuilding the 10D but now i don't have to rush and cut corners.

Everything on the carb (Linkage, spring, rods ) Should change over.

The engine should bolt right up , the only thing thats going to need attention is the wiring.

Sounds like the engine is showing signs of age if its starting to smoke but if it runs good and dosent smoke that bad it should get you by until you have the time to rebuild your other engine.

Excess Carbon buildup can be caused by worn/leaky piston rings.

Ok this seems to be a well guarded secret and I can't find a thing but where is everyone buying Wisconsin parts like over sized pistons and rods and rings?

Many Times you can find some good deals on ebay.

Wisconsin Parts have never been cheap and are generally a bit more than most other brands of engines.

Just got back from a wasted trip got to the guys house and the motor was shot he had the head off and it looks like at some point someone rebuilt this motor and used the stock piston and just used over sized rings i could move the piston a good 0.030 in any direction. Why do these Wisconsin motors have to be so hard to find i just wanna mow my lawn :wallbanging:

I feel your pain. I have been watching eBay for a s12d head for at least 6 months with no luck. It is a want and not a need, so I keep waiting for one to show up. Would rather find a spare s12d to keep for parts
