I have been working on my briggs and Stratton model 19 for a little bit now. and im having a spark issue. I cleaned the points and redid my coil and condenser wiring. I get good blue spark for couple cranks of the motor then it goes away for a little, then comes back.  is my condenser bad or Is it my points

It sounds like a bad condenser to me.

I'm not very familiar with a 19 offhand but is that one of those with replaceable spark plug wiring?

that's what I was thinking will replace tomorrow. and see if my redneck heli coil spark plug thread repair will work until I can get a new head. the one head I have is cracked and I couldn't find anyone with a good tap. so I hammered one in. seems legit

With a meter you can test the condenser as its really just a capacitor (The capacity of all condensers is .16 to .24 MFD) If you don't have a meter that will do MFD, you can test it a different way with ohms and voltage, U-tube has a few just using a muti-meter, takes longer but you get there.

Which 19 do you have ? One of my books cover B&S from 1919-1981. Some have a coil with air gap some don't.

I would also recheck wiring and points to make sure it's not grounding out some where.
