Serial # shows motor was made in '69 on the 52nd day of the year so sometime in Feb.

If you want to do direct replacement, check out Dave Colvert's Overnight Solutions ignition, I think he may have complete

replacement for your system.

If you decided to convert a battery/automotive coil system, go with Ed's system.

Thanks, I just ordered one of Dave Colvert's ignitions.

We are having way more than normal rain, and my grass is growing big time.  I'm sure this is the way to go.

The Ignition is on the way.  Great response"s" from Dave, all questions answered.  The unit shipped when he said it would.

I'm sure my neighbours house prices will go up, when I once again I can cut my lawn!

My ignition arrived yesterday.  I started the the install today.  I don't know how it could be easer to fit.  Everything lined up just like Dale said it would.

I say 'started'  because I had decided to blow off the new ign switch and solenoid, and use the orig ign switch and a toggle, only to find the orig ign switch was hurting.  The blade connectors for the mag kill, and the regulator wire, are loose, and free to rotate on the switch.  Just waiting to meet, and short out.  So I'm once again I'm on the new ign swit, solenoid path.

I'm sure these pictures need no comment, but ifP1000394.JPG P1000395.JPG P1000396.JPG P1000398.JPG P1000399.JPG so, please ask.

I just finished up the install.  A bit of work, but it looks near original.   Just like the fuel hose, I routed the plug wire through the fan shroud.  I used a 3/4" plastic "hole plug", drilled to accept the plug wire, in the RH side of the shroud, and the original grommet in the LH side. I remembered to put both of these, and the coil boot, on the plug wire before crimping on the end ;-)    The 3/4" hole is enough to pass the spark plug boot through.

It started right up, as soon as I remembered to turn on the gas.  There seems to be less vibration, and I think it idles smoother.

I'm not sure why you got that, but I can guess it was the way I posted it.  I wrote the post in a text editor, and did a "copy" "paste".  I wondered about the link showing up in the preview, I thought there was more hoops to jump through.

Is their a way I can edit that post?

No, nothing from anything you posted, but when I looked up & went to that site and then clicked on the tech kit pic, that's when I got it.

I tried clicking on the link to Daniel's open Ebay account, no dice. But Michaels Tractors and WFM open at the same time? Might be time for a stern look, a downgrade on the decoder ring level, or even a severe tounge-lashing.

Fer shame..................... :(

Here is the link to the Ignition system I bought...  http://overnight-solutions.com  Dale was more than just helpful in making sure he sent me the correct system.  If You are having any kind of problem with his site, I'm sure he would appreciate an email stating your concern.

"I tried clicking on the link to Daniel's open Ebay account"  Who's Daniel?

I have a Mac, is this some kind of Windows security thing you guys are on?

I think Cat is talking about the open tabs on Daniel picture.

As for the security warning, some sites will trigger it because of programming structure on Google Chrome and FireFox. I'm sure Dale isn't spamming, just one of those things that falls under the heading of better safe than sorry.

Very glad to hear it was just what the dr ordered and the Teccy is alive and well. THANKS for the follow ups and documentation.

BTW, I had to smile at your kill switch. Usually I think of those as either nitrous injector switches or missle arming switches in movies. Glad this one found a less destructive purpose :D

Glad to do the follow-up.  You guys have a given me lots of info.

I work for an aircraft firm.  I thought the switch would be cool.  It's an old one, "Not For Aircraft Use", and it does let me know the switch position at a glance ;^)

I'm still confused, who is "Daniel"
