I have a LA 175 lawn trator that I have to replace the steering gears for the above referenced tractor. i have the parts but am not sure how to proceed. Specifically, I need to figure out how to disassemble the lower end where the rack and pinion are. Any suggestions?

The link below should get you to JD parts, and you will find the part breakdown picture, I looked at it and I think you will be able to feel your way thru it. The only other way would be to buy a service manual from JD which is pricey as a rule. Good luck
