No one is sharing my enthusiasm. POWER STEERING people.. I think it's a neat concept. Can you tell I'm excited lol

I'm working on the sheet metal today. I've got the dash tower trimmed and measured. I need to trim the dash tower tunnel for the drive shaft. I think the seat pan looks funny but I need to leave room. I hope to one day have 26" tires.

Hmmmmm? This could get interesting! Is this going to be a Wheel Cadet or a Cub Horse?

Decals will be a surprise. I've got several sheet metals to wh ags always liked there look. Also wheel horse and some cubs were red

I've decided to use the dash tower from the cub so I have a place to mount my tank and battery. Under the seat had a lot of room but I'll need it for the rear pto.

It took several hours but I got the hood mounted. I had to cut this part of the factory tower off and removed the bearing for the steering shaft.

Here is the steering bracket I moved down. If I put the muffler on it got the hood and the hood frame. As pictured I've trimmed the outlet and flipped it. I'm not interested in a stack so I've got something I need to do with it. Here is also a picture of the hood hinge.

There isn't enough roll in the wh for a tank. I don't want the fuel under the seat because I plan on putting a rear pto there for the tiller.

Here is how she sits tonite. The steering wheel is sitting high. I should be lowering it some but not until the seat pan and running boards are on.

It's going to be a different critter, that's for sure! Seems you are meeting the challenges thus far!

This thing is looking like crap. I'm just not happy. I also have a feeling the seat pan will be horrible since the spacing from the tires will be a lot.

I cut the exhaust pipes down so I could slide the muffler closer to the block. This allowed the hood to clear and the exhaust to exit out the bottom as it should.

I use a generic cable for the choke and throttle. Despite the red knobs the work well. At 7$ each the are also affordable. I've got a set of wh knobs somewhere around here. These are also long so they are nice for custom applications.

Remember I'm most of what I'm doing is just to get this gt going. I'm sure there will be several things ill want to change that I discover as I use it all summer.

I broke the hour meter so I'm running the clock on this used one I had. 10 days left and it should match the one I messed up.

Somehow I missed this thread David!  And you changing tractors like underwear...... geez, I never noticed!  :rolling:    Interesting project!  Try to wear this pair of underwear a little longer please.  :smilewink:   And yes, power steering is something to be excited about.  That's why I've added it to 2 or 3 of mine.

Fun to look at the progress so far. Thanks for the documentation.
Do you already have a tiller?
