I'm going to fill up the smoker and smoke up a bunch of meat.(Brisket, Boston Butt, and a couple Turkey Breasts).

I don't like ribs smoked(too thin and easy to dry out) as well as I do BBQ'ed, so will do them on the grill.

Will be mowing this weekend. I mowed all 8.9 acres a week agoTuesday and Wednesday.

It looks like it was never done at all?? I was hoping with the 60" mower on the 1500, I could do it once a month.

Maybe later in the summer I can? But it is raining every day or two this spring.

May run over to Lowes and get some material to trellis my Berries. I have never been happy withe the Steel Posts I used(too Flexible) So am going to have to get 4X4 posts and set them.

Hope to refine the clamps on my Hiller Furrower, toolbar. Tried it last weekend and I'm back to the drawing board. they were slipping?

Gee, I like the sound of that.  I am loaning my truck to my daughter and her fiancee.  They are finally moving into the house they bought.  She wants me to find her a lawn mower for her new yard.  I think I can do that!

My brother built a cooker pit out of concrete and block, he is going to cook some chicken and pork Saturday night into Sunday morning. I am going to get him smoke me some chickens. He likes to use hickory wood but is having hard time finding wood. He may go with charcoal. I will try take some pictures of his cooker and post.

If he gets really desperate, these are designed for a commercial/residential smoker line.  I like the mesquite myself.

As for plans, looks like we will be doing the same-old same-old.  Hope to plant garden over the weekend, now tht it's finally warm enough (but the rains may mess that up)

I hope to be concluding my LA adventures.  Leaving Sat or Sun and driving for 4 days with a trailer to CT. I hope you all have a great weekend, but remember why we have it. Over a million who died in the service of our country over the past 238 years. Good Luck, Rick

In the cooking forum if you page back through the archives I posted a list of good smoking woods. I really like fruit woods, apple being a favorite. There are Stinkin Mulberries growing in every Fence row up here and farmers will thank you for cutting them down. It is a nice mellow wood for smoking. Another favorite if you can't find Hikory is Oak.

i have some plans, but the weather might crap on some of them. Going to a swap meet Saturday with my son, and later i have to go to a graduation party of my sisters oldest. Would like to get some work done in the garden, got to cultivate. If the weather puts me off i'll just have to clean the shop and play with the rope machine and the braiding machines. Lucky for me i got the whole 3 days off.
