Took a load of yard waste to the village drop site. On the way back I stopped at the local Casey's to get a R.C. cola for the wife.  At the pumps was a guy with a trailer load of scrap metal. After a short conversation I give him $20 for two garden tillers. A Troy-bilt Bronco and a Weed Eater front tine tiller.

went to the shop this morning. Cleaned the gas tanks and carbs. They both run and work . Used my conduit bender to "straighten " the handle on the Bronco.  Used it to till part of my brothers garden.  He's been needing a tiller so I left it  in his shop. I'm sure he will call me when he gets home.  All he has to do is clean up and sell the other one and  he can keep the Bronco.   The only reason I was interested in the first place was that the Bronco had almost no wear on the tires, and still had the little tits on them. They were worth the $20.  Don't know why they were

just thrown away, but I was in the right place at the right time for a change.   Rick

Nice score!

Have your brother swap the outside tines to the opposite sides on the green tiller.  It will do a better job tilling and won't beat itself [and the operator] to death.

That was one of the first things I did this morning.  Might have been one reason they got rid of it.  Rick

Got a call from my brother.  He found the tillers and had already been playing with them.   now he's hooked up with a decent tiller, and I'll raid his garden. :smilewink:   Rick

Rick, that was a great save from the scrap yard.  Good for you.  That Bronco looks really nice.

Tillers are a great invention this time of year.  I can't believe someone would scrap one.  He could have listed it in the local Craigslist and got $50 each on them.

You sure were in the right place at the right time.
