What's the proper way to set it? I've been using a write up where you go 1/4" down from TDC and set it at (I).004/(E).006. #2 cylinder seems fine. I've not readjusted it today at all. It checked right on spec.

#1 started out too tight, it would start easy but pop through the carb when running at any rpm. I reset it to spec, then the starter wouldn't turn the engine. I loosened it a tick, starter barely turned it cold but wouldn't restart it hot. Have I lost the compression relief lobe on the cam or something?

Out of shear audacity, I swapped on the original starter this morning. Cranks over fine now. We'll see how long this lasts... It still seemed a bit flooded and started without the choke on but didn't blow raw gas onto the ground when it started.

Well, hit the key today and he roared to life in fine style. Put the deck on and managed the first mow of the season without mishap. Looks like we finally got it!

Its goods so far. There was a random popping from the frame maybe. Gonna have to look it over this week. Tire chains were awesome though. Now I just need to hunt up some wheel weights for it.
