And that's interesting because I own D4-10 S#8758  Selma Plate Wisconsin S10D S#426210. I'll message him asking for the info on the engine plate.

I always figured that they were loaded in a semi by what was sitting on the lot at that time to go from dealer to dealer. RI to TX is a bit of a drive for one. Unless someone moved across country and brought it with them.

Scott, Do you have a complete list somewhere with engine make and models? A spread sheet maybe?  I am to see if we can figure out when what engines were used on the D4-10s.

I don't have a complete list- I have it hand written on a sheet most of it- other info saved by cutting nd pasting info- I will get it on a spread sheet at some point. Just got a lot going on right now.
I only know of three motors on the D4-10: Wisconsin TRA-10D, Tecumseh HH100, and most likely the TR-10D- but I have seen very few TR-10D's in them.

Scott, The reason I was asking is that I need an engine for the one up in north east TX. and I have the engine in the ones I brought back from MO.. Serial # 8756 has a bad TR-10D and the parts tractor #9397 has a TRA-10D that is a good engine. do you know when the TRD's started being put in?

Brian unfortunately I have info that just says "10hp Wisconsin" on a good bit of the ones I have collected. I may be wrong about one thing, Titus has a D4-10 that he is showing with a S10-D motor in it....need to verify that. That is the only S10-D I have seen at this point.

I know I have seen some early D4-10's with TRA-10D motors (8000 numbered tractors) if that helps.

Burl has one that was 8351 with a TR-10D motor in it. Just not enough info to call it a pattern, but maybe they did start out with TR-10D and then moved to TRA-10.

I looked at all my versions of D4-10 manuals- they all list the TRA-10D as the motor.

The one I just bought off Ebay up in N E Texas has a Has the TR-10D in it and it's Serial #8756. That's why I was asking.

These may be duplicates of numbers you already have in the list, especially if you got some of your info from MTF, but here goes:

D4-7 S# 7512 Wisconsin S7D Selma plate

D4-10 S# 9746 no engine/parts tractor Selma plate

D4-12 S# 283 Tecumseh HH-120 Galesburg plate

Doug & Peter, can you check your frame for the cutout in it to allow the oil pan to fit the frame? Here's thread I showed Y'all mine in.

Brian, my D4-12 does have the cutout in it. It looks just like the pics you posted, where they cut out a space in the frame and welded in a dog-leg piece to allow for room for the oil pan.
