hi guys, about 6 months ago i found a yard with lots of kubota engines and stuff, all i could do was look through the fence and dream about buying the parts i wanted, so every time i was in the area i would stop in to see if anyone was around, well finally i found someone there, she said she spends alot of her time in japan and all the tractors are from there, i have a b6100h with bad compression, she had 3 that looked like my 1980s 3 cylinder diesel, but do they ever look different laid out on the ground with no tires body work around them, are there any block numbers on these or did kubota only have one 3 cylinder diesel, she said they all ran well and i can come and do a compression test on them, i think the price is great at $500 complete including the starter, she also has a loader for $700,

I think old Kubota engines have a model number, although I can't remember exactly where it is.  Something in me says around the injector, maybe.

Someone else chime in if I'm wrong.  I could be confusing the new motors with the old.

The engine serial numbers are pretty much always on the block just below the injection pump.
