My wife and I recently recently signed up to start Rehabing wide animals that were injured. Well today we got our first animal. Though it's rare in NC but our first animal is a Flying Squirrel. It's quite the interesting animal.
It was found in Greensboro, NC and was brought to a Vets office in Winston Salem. One of our friends works at that vet and gave us a call to see if we could 'rehab' the squirrel. The animal fell out of a tree and was found lethargic. The vet did a examination and was found to have small amount of blood on his back but no obvious signs of where the blood came from. Upon us getting the squirrel it was still lethargic and very cautious of it's movements. We stopped by Kmart and got a cage and some food. Once the squirrel got some food and water it is now wide open. I am thinking it was 'tired' due to it being a nocturnal animal. We plan to return the animal to the wild in a few minutes after our little girl goes to bed because she will have a throw a outrageous fit.
