Good Morning,

I have a Bolens 1220 with the old style yellow Snow Caster shown in picture,my question is will the newer style black blower fit on without modifications ? The black one is on a tube frame with a ohv engine {hood bump} the chain drive looks to be opposite to the older one.It is clearly tagged FMC Bolens but looks quite different. Thanks Mike

I have a later-model black round back snow caster that I used on my 1969 Bolens 850.  As long as it is for a tube frame, it will work no problem.  (Just checking, but the 1220 IS a tube frame right, not a large frame?  I think the 1250 is the large frame...)  I also have a spare red roundback snowcaster that is missing the mounting brackets but is otherwise pretty complete.

But in short, the black snow caster should fit on your tractor.

Yes, the Newer Style FMC snow caster will bolt right up to your tractor.

You Will notice a difference once you start using the black blower. ( Will throw snow farther and not circulate the snow out the front as much as the yellow one)
