I'm looking to free up some space in the garage so I'm selling my 1974 Massey (MF 14). Here's what I posted in my ad on CL:

"When's the last time you saw a Massey Ferguson (MF 14) come on the market for sale? Been looking for a Massey Ferguson? Here's your tractor. This is priced for serious buyers ONLY (asking $1,875). I'm willing to negotiate on the price but not interested in buyers looking for a "steal". The tractor comes with a single stage snow blower........snow cab NOT INCLUDED. Fluids have been recently changed and she runs strong.

If interested send me an email. You're welcome to come out and take a look. Ask any question you'd like and I'll do my best to get you an answer. I don't need to sell, just posting in the event someone has a hankering for a Massey."

Thanks for looking.

I don't want this taken wrong, but could you correct the spelling of "Furgeson" to "Ferguson"?  It just looks better as Massey Ferguson, the way it was made.

Thanks!

If I had the money, I'd be on the way, not picking at your spelling LOL!

HA! At least I was consistent in my error. Thanks for picking up on my error and pointing it out.

Very convincing? Sorry, not following you. I've got more gray hair than you (i.e. brain is failing me) so you'll have to explain what your meaning here. Thanks.

You sound like a seasoned salesman, my friend!   I hope someone with a love for old machinery takes you up on the offer.  I like the pictures, too.

I like the way Masseys look.  I might have to rescue one someday!

I've had some ask what I mean when I say "budge" on the price. Well, I had a guy ask if I'd take $1,500 and I told him I would (even though he did not take me up on the deal) so I thought I'd let you guys know in case you're wondering.

That is a VERY fair price and lowering it may not help it sell, Things are just selling slow right now. Someone can put a few bucks down and buy something on credit, many do not have that much cash on hand and if they do it's is hard to justify on a tractor (wife's opinion)

I would suggest dropping the cab part, and post a new photo w/o cab

Thanks for your candid feedback. It's always hard to tell what price to start with in this market. I'm planning to stay where I'm at on price for now. I agree with you on the fact that most go for what they can get "cheapest" in the moment. Sad really.

Thanks John, will pull the Massey out this weekend and get some new pics without the cab and re-post. Makes perfect sense.

What ever I could get would be offset by damages created by angry spouses, :rolling:
