I have been looking since saturday for a replacement beam for the tractor. The jerk at the tractor dealer said that they dont sell them. That i should buy a new tractor since mine is broken and unrepairable. I left very upset.

My tractor is a 2006 John Deere L120 can you guys point me in the right direction?

Sounds like you have a crook for a local dealer. Can you call around to other dealers to see if they can get the axle beam. I would think it would have to be able to be replaced. I remember somewhere somebody else broke the front axle on their JD.

I can't believe they don't sell replacement front axles as it seems to be a common problem.

:welcome:

I wanted to add that with the tractor being that new it would be hard to find a used one unless it is the same used across a broad range of tractors and several years past.

It was my son-in-law who broke their axle. It was in warranty & replaced free, buty I think a new one was around $60 to $70. Your dealer parts guy is full of it!

Would it be possible to fix it.Take it to someone who welds etc: I'am sure it can be repaired and made stronger at the same time.Larry

Can't beat that, $47. I would buy it and take the receipt in to your dealer and tell him to put it where the sun don't shine and when it comes time to buy a new tractor buy it from a nicer dealer.

Betty  Welcome to the forum! It's good to have you here with us. I think that dealer is a flat out crook! I have replaced 2 of those axle beams for my neighbor on her John Deere L130. While you've got it down, make sure that the front wheel bushings are OK. That axle will probably run you about $65, but if the bushings wear out and you have to replace the rim, it'll be $80! (had to do that for her too!) My Dad has that same unit and has had no trouble with it, but the neighbor has had nothing but trouble!

Just wondering out loud here, Betty. But is there any chance that you are related to Ben Dover and Phil McCracken?
