Jerome, you deserve an award for your dedication to saving Bolens equipment.  There isn't much (beyond possibly a Gravely Westchester) that I would ship across the nation!  You have my full respect.

Nice score ! They make nice anvils  I couldn't tell if it was well worn but  I believe they get very hard from use

You are Right about that! I made an Anvil apearing metal object from Railroad Iron and even drilled a Pritchard hole in it.

The first 1/8" was so work hardened I almost gave up, went through several bits and lots of cutting oil. But when I goT through that it drilled like butter.

Shaping it with a 4 1/2 " grinder was a test of paitence tons of time and taught me a lot. But I would not reccomend anyone do it.

Just take a chunk and start beating on it!

I was lucky she about got away I am happy I got her she turned up to be number 29 off the factory line.
